Re-Trash Bin from Used Plastic Bottles On 3 June 2023, a total of 4 students from the Bachelor of Civil Engineering program who took the AMJ41403 Engineers for Society (SULAM) course under the supervision of Mrs. Zaity Syazwani and Dr. Salwa made waste baskets from plastic bottles for recycling purposes in Pulau Kapas, Terengganu along with 60 other students from the Bachelor of Construction Technology, Bachelor of Civil Engineering Technology programs, and also local tourists. This activity is one example of a practice known as "upcycling" or "recycling". Recycling involves turning waste materials or items that are no longer used into useful objects by using creativity and skills.This activity provides an opportunity to engage creativity, problem-solving skills, and awareness of the importance of reducing the use of single-use plastics. By learning how to turn plastic waste into useful objects, participants can reduce the amount of plastic thrown away and benefit the environment.The donation from the Office of the Menteri Besar of Perlis @PejabatMBPerlis of RM4200 and Megajati @megajati is thanked. The donation has helped make this activity a success.
Rumah Lestari Handover Ceremony to UniMAP by CIDB in Padang Lalang, Ulu Pauh, Arau, Perlis. This house construction project is led by Ir. Dr. Zulham Zahid, researcher of the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Technology (FKTA) through the UniMAP Special Research Grant with close collaboration from other faculties such as the Faculty of Engineering & Electrical Technology (FKTE), the Faculty of Engineering & Electronic Technology (FKTEN), the Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (FKTK) , Faculty of Engineering & Mechanical Technology (FKTM), Faculty of Business & Communication (FPK), Center for Occupational Safety and Health (COSHE) and Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (HEPA).This project also received external sponsorship from Akademi Binaan Malaysia (ABM), Bank Rakyat, IEEE Malaysia, UAC Berhad, Easy Paint Global Sdn Bhd and Fexie Wear.

The Young Environmentalist Camp program is organized in line with the Malaysian Education Development Plan (PPPM) 2013-2025 where one of the main criteria is to improve the quality of the curriculum especially Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education.

This program focuses on education in a fun activity-based teaching and learning environment to attract students' interest in producing more young generations who are skilled in the field of science and technology.

Apart from that, this program is expected to bring students at the primary school level closer to environmental education where each activity that is carried out introduces students to types of pollution such as solid waste pollution, noise pollution, and water pollution in addition to showing methods of nature conservation environment done by environmental engineers.

Every activity organized is expected to prepare the new generation to bravely face future challenges, resolve conflicts peacefully, make appropriate decisions in critical situations, and have the courage to do what is right.

Young Environmentalist Camp is successfully organized in four consecutive years starting from 2018 until 2022 exclude 2021 due to COVID-19 and control movement order enforced by the government. The Young Environmentalist Camp program was attended by approximately 250 participants from the northern zone covering Perlis, Kedah and Penang. This UNESCO-IHP Malaysia sponsored program received media coverage from the Malaysian public broadcasting service, RTM.

September 12, 2022 | MondayFKTA welcomed the delegation of SMK Dato' Perdana, Bachok Kelantan - Form 6 students (Science Stream) for the Collaboration Program with FKTA. Several activities are planned for the purpose of giving exposure to the university environment to students such as laboratory visits, hands on ferro-cement, as well as UniMAP promotional activities, generally FKTA.
